Easter Ross: The Spotted Redshank was at Tain Links again this morning, also 16 Black-tailed Godwits, 2 Greenshank and 1 Snipe (Simon Levene). Inverness-shire: 2 Black-tailed Godwit and 4 Greenshank still at Castle Stuart (Colin Leslie). Wester Ross: Bar-headed Goose again at Achiltibuie (Stuart Edwards), this bird is not ringed and has a broken leg. 24th August
Easter Ross: Spotted Redshank back at Tain links this morning with ca.250 Redshank and 18 Black-tailed Godwits (Bob Swann), later seen roosting at the water treatment outfall at 1145am though distant (Dave Tanner). Wester Ross: 3 Sanderling and 12 Dunlin at Achanahaird (Andy Williams). 23rd August
Lochaber: Black Duck drake again at Strontian at 0730am and at 3pm opposite the Strontian Hotel with hybrids (RBA). Inverness-shire: 2 Black-tailed Godwit, 4 Greenshank at Castle Stuart this morning (Colin Leslie). Wester Ross: At Udale Bay this morning on the high tide: 10 Black-tailed Godwit, 36 Bar-tailed godwit, 2 Greenshank, 5 Ringed Plover, 12 Dunlin, 78 Knot, 48 Lapwing, 25 Common Tern, 15 Sandwich Tern, 7 Teal and single Wheatear. Nearby off Jemimaville: 6 Slavonian Grebe, 45 Red-breasted Merganser, 9 Wigeon and 32 Scaup (Kevin Davies). 22nd August
Wester Ross: From the Ullapool to Stornoway Ferry today, 1 White-tailed Eagle, 2 Black-throated Divers, 22 Great Skua, 3 Arctic Skua, 36 Manx Shearwater, 4 Sooty Shearwater and 11 Storm Petrel also Viking Gull still at Ullapool harbour (Colin Leslie). Lochaber: Drake Black Duck still feeding in front of the Strontian Hotel with Mallard and "hybrid flock" (RBA). 21st August
Easter Ross: 61 Scaup at Jemimaville, and 58 Red-breasted Merganser and 2 Black-tailed Godwit (Dave Tanner). Lochaber: Great Shearwater reported past Ardnamurchan Point yesterday (Birdguides). Easter Ross: 5 Ruff, 1 Black-tailed Godwit, 58 Little Grebe and 2 Slavonian Grebes at Loch Eye (Bob Swann). 19th August
Wester Ross: Third summer Glaucous Gull reported from Ullapool harbour last Friday (RBA), bear in mind that the Viking Gull has been present at this site all summer and was present today at the chip shop (Pete Gordon). Also 4 Sooty Shearwater, 30 Manx Shearwater, Storm Petrel, Bonxie and 4 Arctic Skua from the Ullapool-Stornoway sailing today (Pete Gordon). Skye and Lochalsh: Sabine's Gull reported from a boat trip in Loch Bracadale, Skye (RBA), later re-identified as a juvenile Kittiwake from photographs (per B McMillan). Wester Ross: Bar-headed Goose still in Achiltibuie (Stuart Edwards). 18th August
Inverness-shire: Four Arctic/Pom type skuas chasing terns and heading west, viewed from Whiteness head but flying across north side of firth (David Carter). Easter Ross: Two Pomarine Skuas this morning at 0730am passed east to west over Rosemarkie bay (Mary Galloway). 17th August
Easter Ross: Two Pomarine Skuas coming into Chanonry Point then heading to Rosemarkie bay at 8am (Mary Galloway). Skye and Lochalsh: Large movement of Black-tailed Godwits through Skye today. Groups of 20 and 34 south through Broadford Bay this morning, then 170 in two groups in afternoon, and 34 then 27 mainly juveniles and pushing south despite driving wind & rain (Bob McMillan). Total for the day - 285! Group of 34 probably flew over Drumfearn (PK). 16th August

Inverness-shire: Also at Castle Stuart today 2 Black-tailed Godwit (Colin Leslie). Late news of a white morph Gyrfalcon from Balnakeil, Durness on the 6th August (Carol Nesbitt). No photos, or details on the presence or absence of falconry rings/jesses. 14th August
Easter Ross: 250 Common Scoter and a single velvet Scoter off Portmahomack beach (Dave Tanner). Between 1445-1630 today 19 Whimbrel flew west over Fortrose golf course: (Mary Galloway). Sutherland: Two adult Little Gulls flew south past Brora at 1517pm (Birdguides). Two Sooty shearwaters flew past Strathy Point this afternoon (Birdguides). 13th August
Easter Ross: This morning at Chanonry Point in 1.5 hrs (06.30-0800) 4 Arctic skua, and a single Bonxie (Kevin Davis). Later two Pomarine Skuas, one dark on light passed the point west at 1215pm then back out (Sue Sykes) and then seen past Fort George in Inverness-shire at 1425pm (Colin Leslie). 12th August

Skye and Lochalsh: 110 Whimbrel through Bradford Bay in two hours today (Martin Benson). Badenoch and Strathspey: Red-necked Grebe again on River Spey 0.5-1 mile upstream of Broomhill Bridge (Pete Gordon). Easter Ross: Single Pomarine Skua off Tarbat Ness and 4 Whimbrel at the point (Dave Tanner). 1 Greenshank, 1 Black-tailed Godwit, 2 Common Sandpiper, 2 Sanderling, 12 Knot, 15 Dunlin, 55 Lapwing, 11 Bar-tailed Godwit,also present 1 Osprey, 240 Canada Geese, 2 Greylag Geese and 1 Barnacle Goose, nearby off Jemimaville 9 Wigeon and 51 Red-breasted Mergansers (Kevin Davis). Inverness-shire: At Whiteness today 120 Knot, 300 Dunlin, 60 Sanderling, 100 Ringed Plover, 50 Oystercatcher, 1 Bar-tailed Godwit, 50 Sandwich Tern, 30 Common Tern and a Ruff. 1st August
